Teaching Philosophy
I teach yoga because I see the fruits of a home yoga practice in my own life, and I want to share that with others. I sought out yoga over 20 years ago wanting a good exercise class, but yoga’s influence on who I am extends well beyond any form of exercise.
My teaching focuses on breath, integration, and rhythm: I call students’ attention to how their breath informs their movement and vice versa. I want students to become more aware of habitual ways of moving throughout the world that cause imbalance or pain, so my classes offer new ways to move fluidly.
I see every person as a walking compilation of their life experiences and yoga can be an entry point towards accessing the stories our bodies hold. By the end of a class with me I hope students feel returned to themselves in body, mind, and spirit.
