Other logistics
All of our trainings and retreats include an on-site component—because true transformation happens in an environment that encourages self-reflection, supports new patterns, and fosters a deeper connection to your own rhythms.
Here, you’ll nourish your body with clean, wholesome meals and connect with a like-minded community in a meaningful way.
Our Accommodations
Our rooms are rustic, comfortable, and designed to help you fully immerse in the experience. As a working farm, our setting keeps you close to nature, fresh air, and the changing seasons.
We offer private and shared rooms in our converted barn, as well as a limited number of private cabins.
Loos and showers are shared among all guests, providing a simple, communal experience that enhances connection and mindfulness.
All living spaces have heat and A/C. Bathroom spaces are shared and co-ed. There is one shared composting loo near the barn where participants will stay and one central flushing toilet in the dining hall. There are two showers in a co-ed bathroom in the converted barn.
Anytime you come, please bring your own linens (sheets, blankets, pillows) and towels.
You can select your specific sleeping space upon arrival (first come, first serve).
MEALS at the Shala
While you are staying with us, you’ll be served simple, wholesome, Ayurvedically-balanced meals, always made from scratch.
You’ll enjoy 3 freshly prepared vegetarian meals daily. Lunch is our heartiest meal, aligning with the body’s peak digestive power (Agni), while dinner is light and grounding—often a soup and salad. Coffee and tea are available throughout the day..
Because our kitchen is small and intentionally streamlined, we can only accommodate limited dietary restrictions, by approval and for a small fee. Please reach out to us in advance of your arrival to discuss your needs.
Our location
Our homestead is nestled deep in the Arkansas Ozarks—just 20 minutes from the town of Jasper. Our location is both accessible and remote: close enough for convenience, yet far enough to create the spaciousness needed for deep inner work.
We are surrounded by the beauty of the Ozark National Forest and within close reach of the Buffalo National River. With low light pollution, minimal EMFs and abundant fresh air, the Shala offers an environment that truly supports learning, renewal, and clarity.
The nearest airport is Boone County Regional Airport (HRO) in Harrison, just 1 hour away. Northwest Arkansas National Airport (XNA) in Fayetteville is about 2 hours by car and offers more flight options. We do not handle airport pick-ups and drop-offs but can put you in contact with fellow students driving from those areas; or you can rent a car.

Jasper, AR 72641For navigation purposes, use the directions below.
Google Maps has added us! Still, the safest way to get here is to map Rio Buffalo Outfitters, on HWY 74, zip code 72641, as the closest point of reference on the map.
From the Rio Buffalo Outfitter, turn south onto Shiloh Road, proceeding immediately uphill (you'll see a green highway sign saying “Shiloh”). Go exactly 2.2 miles: the first mile is paved and the last 1.2 miles is gravel, which will bring you to our driveway, on the right.
As you pull into the property, you will find yourself in our parking lot. There is pasture and horses on the right and a hay barn, dining hall, and barn on the left.
There are only a few locations for gasoline. Do not miss an opportunity to fill up before arriving.
You may lose your cell signal when you get close to the Shala, so keep these directions handy.
