ADMISSIONS POLICIES
Admissions Anti-Discrimination Policy
In the admission to our programs, we do not discriminate based on age, sex, gender (including pregnancy), race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, disability, socioeconomic status, genetic information, or any other basis proscribed by law.
Admissions Requirements
You must be at least 18 years old to enroll in the training.
Enrollment Process
To complete your enrollment, you must
1) Sign our Enrollment Agreement
2) Make the $200 deposit payment.
3) Complete your 'one and done payment' or start your monthly payments within 15 days of your deposit payment. In the case of enrolling within 15 days of the training start, you must complete your payment within a day of your deposit payment.
PAYMENT POLICIES
Deposit
A $200 deposit is required to enroll in the program.
The deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable, meaning that it cannot be deferred to another course, cohort, or another person.
Payment Schedule
You must complete your 'one and done payment' or start your monthly payments within 15 days of your deposit payment. In the case of enrolling within 15 days of the training start, you must complete your payment within a day of your deposit payment.
Your ‘one and done’ payment is a single payment. Your ‘monthly’ payments will take place on the same day of the month for 8 months.
You payment includes tuition, meals, the lodging of your choice (private, shared, commuter) or virtual attendance. Your payment does not cover travel.
Our prices may change without notice, even during the course of a program. Always reference the program page for the most recent pricing structure.
You will be suspended from the program if you do not fulfill your payment obligations.
Payment Refund and Deferral Policy
Your payment is non-refundable 15 days before the program start, but 50% of it may be deferred for up to one year. Your payment cannot be deferred to a different student or program.
For requests made within 15 days of the training start, refunds will take place within one month your request in the form of a credit on the card on file.
In the case of a weather event that moves the Intensive from ‘in person’ to being ‘online’, a small credit will be issued to the students. The credit will be valid for 3 months on select Shala experiences at the discretion of the staff.
Financial Aid Policy
We do not offer Financial Aid options.
“No Show” Policy
If you do not attend the program for which you are expected, your payment will be forfeited.
Other Fees
In addition to the deposit, tuition, and accommodations, students may incur additional financial obligations for any teaching arrangements outside of the designated curriculum and policies.
For example:
Private sessions with a staff member in the case of missed hours ($150/hour)
Costs of repeating an intensive (50% tuition for that intensive plus accommodations)
Additional hardcopies of your certificate ($10/copy)
Transfer Fee from an Affiliate Program (30% tuition plus accommodations)
PROGRAM COMPLETION POLICIES
Attendance Policy
Students must be prepared to attend 100% of the classroom time.
Students missing more than 80% of class meetings must retake the intensive within one year. Tardiness and leaving class early are subtracted from the total time of the program and counted against the minimum required attendance. The student is responsible for all costs associated with re-taking an intensive.
Students missing less than 80% of class meetings may schedule private sessions with a Lead Trainer to make up for the lost time and content. Such arrangements must be made in writing with the Program Director before the end of the Intensive and are at an additional cost to the student.
Students must note any inclement weather dates for winter intensives and be available to attend on those dates, should the shala need to use them.
All intensives are conducted on property unless otherwise specified.
Academic Performance Policy
Academic progress will be monitored throughout the intensives. Progress will be measured based on:
Attendance for all required contact hours
Participation in discussion and group activities
Demonstrated ability to apply the material covered during the Intensive
Satisfactory completion of all in-class assignments
Failed or incomplete assignments will result in the student having to retake the intensive.
The student is responsible for all costs associated with re-taking an intensive.
Graduation Policy
To graduate from the 200hr YTT:
All intensives must be completed within 2 training cycles.
All financial obligations must be met.
Upon completion of the program, a certificate will be provided to the student.
Re-Enrollment Policy
Re-enrollment is required when the student cannot comply with the Graduation Policy. To re-enroll, start the enrollment process from beginning and plan to retake all intensives.
Withdrawal Policy
Students wishing to withdraw from the program must provide a notice in writing (email or letter) or by phone to Circle Yoga Shala, including the reason for withdrawal. The date of withdrawal shall be the date set forth in writing.
The student must return the manual within 2 weeks of the withdrawal notice. Returning the manual is at the student’s expense.
All financial obligations must be fulfilled for the completed portion of the program.
Cancellation Policy
In the unlikely event of a course cancellation due to low enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances, Circle Yoga Shala reserves the right to cancel a course up to seven (7) business days prior to the start date of the course.
Please note that some intensives have pre-determined “make-up” dates in case of cancellation due to weather. We rarely ever need to use the make-up dates, but you are still responsible for keeping those dates open in case the intensive dates change.
Transfer from an Affiliate School/Program
Transfers are only possible from a CYS affiliate program. A written request must be submitted to the CYS staff to transfer from one location to another. If approved, an additional 30% tuition charge will be paid to the new location, plus accommodations.
We do not accept transfers from any other program/school, due to the specific nature of our program.
CONDUCT POLICIES
Student Code of Conduct
We expect that students:
Turn off cell phones during class.
Dress and behave in a professional and ethical manner.
Be respectful of trainers, staff, other students, and school property.
Arrive for each session on time and fully prepared with assignments, reading and writing materials, and appropriate gear.
Fulfill financial and time commitments to the program.
Do not enter the teaching space intoxicated or under the influence of any substance.
Wear no prominent scents or cologne/perfume, along with proper hygiene.
Dress in a manner appropriate for the practice and instruction of yoga at all times during all class sessions. The dress code consists of yoga or sports pants and yoga tops or shirts that provide coverage of the torso during movement. Students failing to comply with the dress code will be dismissed from class with an opportunity to return when in compliance.
Students who do not comply may undergo a Student Disciplinary Procedure.
Teacher Code of Conduct
Purpose Statement: Our Code of Conduct aims to help our teachers serve in their purest spirit and protect our students and community.
Financial Practices: Teachers will discuss all fees and financial arrangements in a straightforward, professional manner. Teachers will manage their business affairs according to recognized standard business and accounting practices. Teachers are encouraged to render services to individuals or groups in need without regard to financial remuneration. Teachers will neither receive nor pay a commission for the referral of a student.
Professional Growth/Continuing Education: Teachers shall dedicate themselves to the continuing study and practice of yoga, including asana, meditation, and theory.
Teacher-Student Relationships: Teachers shall demonstrate a high regard for their students' moral, social, and religious standards. Teachers shall avoid imposing their personal beliefs on their students, although they may express them when appropriate in the class and in a sensitive and careful manner. Teachers recognize the trust placed in them by students and the unique power of the student-teacher relationship. Teachers shall avoid exploiting the trust and dependency of students. Teachers shall avoid dual relationships with students (e.g. business, close personal, or sexual relationships) that may impair their judgment, compromise the integrity of the teachings, and/or use the relationship for their personal gain. Teachers shall not engage in harassment, abusive words or actions, or exploit students. Teachers recognize that the teacher-student relationship involves a power imbalance and shall exercise caution if the teacher chooses to get into a personal relationship with a student.
Integrity: Teachers shall uphold the highest of moral standards. Teachers shall strive to ensure that their intentions, actions, and speech are based on honesty, compassion, selflessness, trustworthiness, and transparency.
Scope of Practice: Teachers shall not abandon or neglect their students. If teachers are unable (or unwilling for appropriate reasons) to provide professional help or continue a professional relationship, they should make every reasonable effort to arrange for instruction for that student with another teacher. Teachers should avoid giving any personal advice concerning a student’s personal life. Teachers shall not give medical advice. Teachers shall not prescribe a treatment or suggest rejecting a physician’s advice. Teachers shall refer their students to medical doctors or complimentary licensed professionals when appropriate.
Confidential Information: Teachers shall keep all personal information disclosed by their students strictly confidential.
Inter-Professional Relationships: Teachers are part of a network of health care and well-being professionals and shall seek to develop interdisciplinary relationships. Teachers shall conduct themselves in an honorable manner in their relations with their colleagues and other wellness practitioners. Teachers shall not openly criticize practices followed by other yoga schools or teachers.
Advertising and Public Communications: A teacher shall accurately represent his or her professional qualifications and certifications along with his or her affiliations with any organization(s). Announcements and brochures promoting classes or workshops shall describe them with accuracy and grace. These principles are designed to uphold the quality of our teachings and shall be in compliance with legal guidelines for the appropriate representation of our services.
Yoga Equity: Teachers shall welcome all students regardless of age, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and perceived gender expression), sexual orientation, color, race, national origin, marital status, parental status, veteran’s status, religion, or physical or mental disability, provided that the teacher has appropriate expertise.
Student Disciplinary Policy
Students who fail to meet conduct expectations will be given a verbal reprimand, during which conduct policies will be reviewed. If questionable conduct continues, a second written reprimand will be shared with the student. If compliance is not maintained throughout the remaining time in the program, the student will be terminated, and a “Letter of Program Termination for Conduct Violation” will be sent to the student.
Refunds will be processed in case of student termination according to the Refund Policy.
Student Grievance Policy
We encourage anyone who has been the subject of sexual misconduct or any other action that violates our policies to report the incident to our Program Director at Circle Yoga Shala. A grievance team made up of the instructor and another member of the faculty will meet to review the issues contained in the written letter (henceforth referred to as the “reviewing body”). The report should contain the following information:
Your full name;
Your email and phone number;
The name of the person who the grievance is against;
A description of the alleged policy violation;
The date and location of the policy violation;
Names and contact information of any witnesses with first-hand knowledge of the situation; and,
Any other credible evidence that is available to support the grievance
In the interest of fairness and privacy, all reports must be made by the person who has personally experienced the misconduct. We will not investigate a matter based on a third-party report of misconduct. All reports must be made in good faith based on information the person reporting the incident reasonably believes to be accurate. We may request additional information from the person reporting the incident throughout the course of the review of the report. We will take appropriate action to ensure compliance with our policies. The reviewing body will impose any sanctions that it feels are fair, just, and reasonable under all circumstances. We will not allow anyone to retaliate against any person for making a report in good faith or providing information in connection with an investigation into an alleged violation. Any information provided during a grievance report review will be treated confidentially. Similarly, any actions that are taken in response to the report will also be confidential.
Audit Policy
Students may return and audit the program that they have completed, assuming all prior financial responsibilities have also been fulfilled. We offer two audit options. Once you decide to attend, please let us know at least two weeks of notice so that we can save you space and include you in the meal counts.
Audit/Observer is tuition-free. When selecting this option, students are to observe the class in silence. They are welcome to take notes, but they are not to contribute with comments or questions (unless invited by the lead teacher). This option is only available to graduates.
Audit/Participant at 50% of the current tuition cost. When selecting this option, students may participate in all discussions, group activities, practice teaching, etc. This option is available for graduates as well as non-graduates who have already attended the portion of the training they wish to audit.
Auditing students must cover their accommodations while on the property. If staying off-campus, the commuter fee of $55/day applies (including all meals and property access). Furthermore, students may consider becoming of service (Seva) while auditing, so please inquire with the staff about any chores you might want to cover. Remember that when you come to audit, you are a representation of the teachings. We ask that you carry yourself as such: be respectful, be of service in any way that presents itself, look presentable, and support the teachers/teachings. To the students, you are modeling what a graduate looks like.
Auditing at a hosting studio may also be possible. If space is available, please consider being of service to the studio while auditing and help in some manner: clean up, contribute toilet paper, etc. Please check the shala calendar for programs being offered at hosting locations since that is not a regular offering.
Video and Photography Policy
During each intensive, much of the content will be recorded so that it can be uploaded to the training site and shared with you, your fellow students, and program graduates. There may be photos taken for marketing purposes. If you have any concerns regarding being recorded or photographed, please let staff and your trainers know before the start of the first intensive or at any time during the training.
Training Hub Policy
Upon payment, you will receive access to this Training Hub, a private site that houses video resources for your training. We encourage you to take advantage of this resource as early as possible.
If you don’t complete the program, your access to the Training Hub will be revoked immediately.

You are permitted to access and view this material through your purchase of this content or through your paid attendance. This material is for personal use only and excludes anyone else (such as friends, family, and yoga networks). Permission to share content (text, photos, videos) may be granted upon written, explicit request, and permission will be associated with a fee.
Anti-Harassment Policy
We do not permit staff members, trainers, teachers, students, or others in the workplace to harass any other person because of age, gender (including pregnancy), race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, disability, socioeconomic status, genetic information, or any other basis proscribed by law.

Sexual Harassment in the Workplace
We do not tolerate sexual harassment in our location. Sexual harassment refers to any unwelcome sexual attention, sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal, visual, or physical conduct of a sexual nature when the conduct harms the person’s employment or working environment.
Sexual Misconduct Policy
We prohibit sexual misconduct in our school. Sexual misconduct is any unsolicited and unwelcome sexual advances including requests for sexual favors, sexual touching, and verbal, visual, or physical conduct that creates a sexually hostile environment on the property.
Romantic Relationships Between Teachers and Students
Teachers shall not invite, respond to, or allow any sexual or romantic conduct with a student during the period of the teacher-student relationship.
Anti-Retaliation Policy
We prohibit retaliation against anyone for reporting a violation of our Code of Conduct or other policies or for participating in an investigation relating to a violation of our Code of Conduct or other policies.
Property Waiver
To participate in any activity at the shala, you must agree with the property waiver.
In consideration of the risk of injury or illness while participating in yoga classes and/or yoga training, horse activities, the wilderness, movement, WWOOFing, meditation, gardening, meals, swimming, floating, sauna, cold plunge and any other activity offered or available at Circle Yoga Shala (the "Activity"), and as consideration for the right to participate in the Activity, I hereby, for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, assigns, or personal representatives, knowingly and voluntarily enter into this waiver and release of liability and hereby waive any and all rights, claims or causes of action of any kind whatsoever arising out of my participation in the Activity, and do hereby release and forever discharge Circle Yoga Shala, located at HC 70 Box 544, Jasper, Arkansas 72641, their affiliates, managers, members, agents, attorneys, staff, volunteers, heirs, representatives, predecessors, successors and assigns, for any physical or psychological injury, including but not limited to illness, paralysis, death, damages, economic or emotional loss, that I may suffer as a direct result of my participation in the aforementioned Activity, including traveling to and from an event related to this Activity.
I AM VOLUNTARILY PARTICIPATING IN THE AFOREMENTIONED ACTIVITY AND I AM PARTICIPATING IN THE ACTIVITY ENTIRELY AT MY OWN RISK. I AM AWARE OF THE RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH TRAVELING TO AND FROM AS WELL AS PARTICIPATING IN THIS ACTIVITY, WHICH MAY INCLUDE, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO, PHYSICAL OR PSYCHOLOGICAL INJURY, PAIN, SUFFERING, ILLNESS, DISFIGUREMENT, TEMPORARY OR PERMANENT DISABILITY (INCLUDING PARALYSIS), ECONOMIC OR EMOTIONAL LOSS, AND DEATH. I UNDERSTAND THAT THESE INJURIES OR OUTCOMES MAY ARISE FROM MY OWN OR OTHERS' NEGLIGENCE, CONDITIONS RELATED TO TRAVEL, OR THE CONDITION OF THE ACTIVITY LOCATION(S). NONETHELESS, I ASSUME ALL RELATED RISKS, BOTH KNOWN OR UNKNOWN TO ME, OF MY PARTICIPATION IN THIS ACTIVITY, INCLUDING TRAVEL TO, FROM AND DURING THIS ACTIVITY.
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Circle Yoga Shala against any and all claims, suits or actions of any kind whatsoever for liability, damages, compensation or otherwise brought by me or anyone on my behalf, including attorney's fees and any related costs, if litigation arises pursuant to any claims made by me or by anyone else acting on my behalf. If Circle Yoga Shala incurs any of these types of expenses, I agree to reimburse Circle Yoga Shala.
I acknowledge that Circle Yoga Shala and their directors, officers, volunteers, representatives, and agents are not responsible for errors, omissions, acts or failures to act of any party or entity conducting a specific event or activity on behalf of Circle Yoga Shala.
I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THIS ACTIVITY MAY INVOLVE A TEST OF A PERSON'S PHYSICAL AND MENTAL LIMITS AND MAY CARRY WITH IT THE POTENTIAL FOR DEATH, SERIOUS INJURY, AND PROPERTY LOSS. The risks may include, but are not limited to, those caused by terrain, facilities, temperature, weather, lack of hydration, condition of participants, equipment, vehicular traffic and actions of others, including but not limited to, participants, volunteers, spectators, coaches, event officials and event monitors, and/or producers of the event.
I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I HAVE CAREFULLY READ THIS "WAIVER AND RELEASE" AND FULLY UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS A RELEASE OF LIABILITY. I EXPRESSLY AGREE TO RELEASE AND DISCHARGE Circle Yoga Shala AND ALL OF ITS AFFILIATES, MANAGERS, MEMBERS, AGENTS, ATTORNEYS, STAFF, VOLUNTEERS, HEIRS, REPRESENTATIVES, PREDECESSORS, SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, FROM ANY AND ALL CLAIMS OR CAUSES OF ACTION AND I AGREE TO VOLUNTARILY GIVE UP OR WAIVE ANY RIGHT THAT I OTHERWISE HAVE TO BRING A LEGAL ACTION AGAINST Circle Yoga Shala FOR PERSONAL INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE.
To the extent that statute or case law does not prohibit releases for negligence, this release is also for negligence on the part of Circle Yoga Shala, its agents, and employees.
In the event that I should require medical care or treatment, I agree to be financially responsible for any costs incurred as a result of such treatment. I am aware and understand that I should carry my own health insurance.
In the event that any damage to equipment or facilities occurs as a result of my or my family's willful actions, neglect or recklessness, I acknowledge and agree to be held liable for any and all costs associated with any actions of neglect or recklessness.
This Agreement was entered into at arm's-length, without duress or coercion, and is to be interpreted as an agreement between two parties of equal bargaining strength. Both the Participant,and Circle Yoga Shala agree that this Agreement is clear and unambiguous as to its terms, and that no other evidence will be used or admitted to alter or explain the terms of this Agreement, but that it will be interpreted based on the language in accordance with the purposes for which it is entered into.
In the event that any provision contained within this Release of Liability shall be deemed to be severable or invalid, or if any term, condition, phrase or portion of this agreement shall be determined to be unlawful or otherwise unenforceable, the remainder of this agreement shall remain in full force and effect, so long as the clause severed does not affect the intent of the parties. If a court should find that any provision of this agreement to be invalid or unenforceable, but that by limiting said provision it would become valid and enforceable, then said provision shall be deemed to be written, construed and enforced as so limited.
