Teaching Lineage

Matthew and Holly are both Certified Yoga Therapists with the International Association of Yoga Therapy (IAYT).  Combined, they have over 50 years of experience as practitioners and 34 years as teachers of teachers.  They have traveled all over the world teaching.

Their training is linked to a lineage that traces its roots to one of the fathers of modern Hatha Yoga, Shri Tirumalai Krishnamacharya, who trained many of the great contributors to Yoga in the West. Some of his students include many of yoga's most renowned teachers: his son T. K. V. Desikachar (b. 1938), Indra Devi (1900-2002), his brother-in-law B. K. S. Iyengar (b. 1918), K. Pattabhi Jois (1915-2009), and A. G. Mohan (b. 1945).

Matthew's teacher, Godfrey Devereux began his pioneering journey into the roots of human experience when he was 16 years old. His experience on the Yoga mat and the meditation cushion has been further fertilized by professional training in Child Development and Education, Oriental Medicine, and dedicated studies with masters of Zen, Advaita, and Tantra, as well as B.N.S. Iyengar,  Geeta Iyengar, and Pattabhi Jois.

Holly's teachers are Sri Ananda Ma of Dyanyogi's Kundalini Maha Yoga Lineage, Ana Forrest and Fr. Richard Rohr of the Center for Action and Contemplation (tree has not been updated to include Rohr at this time).
