Graduate Spotlight: August 2019 August 10, 2019 holly krepps Anna Davis graduated from the YTT200 program in June 2019 and this is her story. In her own words... My yoga journey began with asana. I grew up tall and very skinny . . . this meant that people often shared their concerns about my health or their disgust with my appearance. Later, modeling agents and photographers had other ideas about how my body should look and how I ought to feel in it. I tried not to internalize any of these experiences, but by the time I began practicing I felt very disconnected from my body. Thankfully, through movement and stillness I found connection, to my body, to breath, to my community, and to nature. When I came to Circle Yoga Shala this year I thought I was looking for a new skill set to boost my resume as an art therapist. I did find that (and landed my dream job as an art therapist and yoga teacher in a school just a few days after graduating from the 200 hour YTT) but I also found a deeper sense of connection. Since leaving the Shala I find myself moving through my daily life and relationships with more intention and presence. To me, this is significantly more valuable than any resume booster.
